Rev. Hermia Shegog Whitlock

Rev. Hermia Anita Shegog Whitlock (“Mia”) was ordained an elder in the African Methodist Episcopal (“A.M.E.”) Church in October 2012.  Before she accepted her calling to the ministry, she labored as an associate for majority law firms, taught as a Lecturer in Law at the University of California School of Law, Los Angeles, made partner with in a minority-owned law firm, and retired from the practice of law as in-house senior counsel for U.S. defense contractor, Northrop Grumman Corporation, headquartered in Washington, D.C.  Rev. Whitlock earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Studies from Northwestern University, Evanston IL and a Doctor of Law degree from the University of Chicago Law School, Chicago IL.  Rev. Whitlock is Chief Operating Officer of Christ Our Redeemer A.M.E. Church, as 1st Lady supervises the Women’s Missionary Society, and serves in the Music and Worship Arts Ministry, as a Praise Team member and Liturgical Dance minister.
